Duplicate Photo Finder
Drop in a batch of photos and automatically group the ones that are duplicates or near-duplicates, using the same perceptual hashing behind our similarity checker.
Your files never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or seen by us.
How it works
Each photo you drop in gets reduced to a compact perceptual fingerprint (a dHash), computed on an in-memory canvas — the same technique used by our Image Similarity Checker. The tool then compares every photo's fingerprint against every other photo's, and groups any pair scoring 85% or higher as likely duplicates. Everything happens locally in your browser tab.
Frequently asked questions
- How is this different from the Image Similarity Checker?
- The Image Similarity Checker compares exactly two images you pick. This tool takes a whole batch — dozens of photos at once — and automatically groups the ones that look alike, so you don't have to compare pairs manually.
- How many photos can I check at once?
- There's no hard limit — everything runs in your browser's memory, so the practical ceiling depends on your device. A few hundred photos at a time works comfortably on most modern computers.
- Will it catch resized or recompressed copies of the same photo?
- Yes. It uses the same perceptual hashing (dHash) technique as our similarity checker, which is resilient to resizing, recompression, and small edits — unlike an exact byte-for-byte file comparison.
- Are my photos uploaded anywhere to compare them?
- No. Every photo is hashed directly in your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server, ours or anyone else's.
